Tottenham remain in talks to get Richarlison off their books after he was dropped from their Premier League squad earlier this month.
The Brazilian was in talks to sign for Everton on deadline day as the two clubs were also discussing Iliman Ndiaye travelling in the opposite direction.
However, talks broke down and Richarlison remained in North London as Tottenham turned down an offer from Trabzonspor before the Turkish transfer deadline.
And now, he is in talks to sign for Brazilian side Vasco da Gama, but they face a race against time to complete the deal.
Richarlison’s Tottenham departure hanging by a thread
The Brazilian transfer window closes at 19:00 BRT, so Vasco have the best part of six hours to complete the deal.
Various reports have confirmed that they are willing to pay €20m, including add-ons, to complete the deal, a figure that could tempt De Zerbi and co to sell since he’s already out of their Premier League squad.
Earlier this week, there were suggestions that Richarlison could take Tottenham to court and have his contract terminated to facilitate a free transfer.
Vasco appear willing to pay a decent fee, but with the clock ticking, they need to get moving soon to finish this saga once and for all.
