Tottenham Hotspur need their big guns to come to the fore tomorrow as they take on Everton at home.
Roberto De Zerbi’s side remain on the lookout for their first Premier League win of the season and have picked up just a point from three games so far.
To make matters worse, the Lilywhites are yet to score a league goal this season, although they recorded a thumping 5-1 win against Charlton Athletic in the second round of the Carabao Cup.
And ahead of the game vs Everton, De Zerbi has made an interesting claim on Lucas Bergvall, who recently signed a new long-term deal at the club.
De Zerbi lauds Bergvall’s decision to stay at Tottenham
At the start of the summer, it looked like the young Swede could be on the move amid interest from Newcastle United, Nottingham Forest and Sunderland.
But earlier today, it was confirmed that Bergvall has officially put pen to paper on a new contract.
“By the end of the season he will play many games,” said De Zerbi via Football London.
“He has to improve. We have to help him improve and he has to keep working like he is doing. From the beginning of pre-season, he has been fantastic on the pitch.”
He hasn’t been at his best this season, but this is a great move from the club and De Zerbi to lock down one of the most exciting talents at the club.
