Tottenham Hotspur were one of the most active clubs during the summer transfer window.
The Lilywhites signed as many as ten new players and spent in excess of £400m, making it one for the history books.
With a handful of shiny new toys at N17, the pressure is on Roberto De Zerbi to deliver results.
But Mauricio Pochettino feels Tottenham still have a lot of work to do to become a competitive club once again.
Tottenham not guaranteed success, says Pochettino
“They are investing like other clubs. You never know. We need time to see if that works or not,” said the Argentine via Sky Sports.
“Like in all the games, when you make a decision like a coach, that can work well or not.
“I think it’s a different strategy and a different way to operate. I always wish the best for Tottenham because it’s in my heart.”
Pochettino and every manager in the top-flight knows that spending money on transfers doesn’t guarantee success.
Tottenham have already been given a harsh reality check during the early part of the 2026-27 season as they remain winless in three Premier League games.
However, once their new players settle and their injury woes start to ease, De Zerbi can expect more consistency from his players.
