‘Good’ – Paul Scholes names the Tottenham player who can save Roberto De Zerbi

Tottenham are already in a spot of bother in the Premier League after failing to win any of their first three games of the new season.

Roberto De Zerbi’s side splashed the cash in the summer transfer window on ten new signings but haven’t lived up to the hype on the pitch.

After successive defeats against Brentford and Newcastle United, they finally got a point on the board last weekend with a 0-0 draw against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.

And now, Paul Scholes feels James Maddison is the only player who can reduce the negativity around the club in recent weeks.

James Maddison invaluable for Tottenham

The Englishman hasn’t featured for the club this season but was spotted in training, which is a sign that he could make his first appearance of the current campaign against Everton tomorrow.

“I like him. He is a good footballer. He makes the team play good football, you know what I mean.

“They need to get him involved somehow,” said the former Manchester United man.

“Tottenham is a very negative place at the minute, and it has been for two or three years.

“If you get two or three wins put together, then all of a sudden you are off and running. I think they will be fine.”

Maddison is likely to be on the bench on Saturday, but we can’t disagree with Scholes’ comments as his creativity and experience could prove to be invaluable for Tottenham in the coming weeks.
