Richarlison now only has one option to leave Tottenham this week

Tottenham Hotspur’s decision to freeze Richarlison out of their Premier League squad for the 2026-27 season came as a bit of a shock to everyone involved.

After his move to Everton broke down on deadline day, a handful of Premier League clubs unsuccessfully tried to sign him.

He was then linked with a move to Trabzonspor, only for Tottenham to reject two unsatisfactory bids from the Turkish side.

Now, however, even the Saudi Pro League transfer window has slammed shut, so the striker only really has one option left – return to Brazil.

Richarlison running out of options to leave Tottenham

Alasdair Gold reports that Vasco da Gama were once interested in signing Richarlison, adding that the Brazilian league is Richarlison’s only option to leave this week.

An excerpt from his Football London piece reads: “The only realistic transfer option remaining is a move home to Brazil, with their transfer window open until this Friday.

“Flamengo have been credited with interest before and his friend and former Spurs team-mate Emerson Royal is at the Rio club.

“Supporters of Vasco da Gama, the Brazilian club Richarlison supported as a youngster, have tried to push a #RicharlisonNoVasco (#RicharlisonAtVasco) campaign on social media in recent days.

“Richarlison also has close ties to Fluminense, where he came to prominence before his move to Watford and the Premier League in 2017.”

Brazilian clubs are unlikely to be able to afford his wages, so Richarlison looks set to stay put at Tottenham until January at the very least.
