Tottenham Hotspur and Nottingham Forest played out a 0-0 draw at the City Ground in what was a well-fought game of Premier League football.
Roberto De Zerbi’s side picked up their first points of the new season, although it wasn’t the result they hoped for.
The Lilywhites didn’t really create too many chances in attack as new signings Omar Marmoush and Savio started together alongside Mathys Tel.
Nottingham Forest actually had the ball in the back of the net in the second half via Neco Williams, but the goal was disallowed for a handball on the Welsh defender.
And former England international Steph Houghton believes Sandro Tonali got away with the situation in that passage of play.
Sandro Tonali gets away with one for Tottenham
Morgan Gibbs-White chipped the ball over Antonin Kinsky and the ball was looping into an empty net. Tonali had the chance to clear the ball, but he fluffed his lines tremendously, which allowed Williams to scramble the ball home.
Initially, the goal was given and the Forest players reeled away in celebration as Tonali was sat inside the net with his face covered.
However, his blushes were spared as Williams was adjudged to have handled the ball before scrambling it into the net.
“I think, to be honest, he has tried to cover his face and that’s why it has hit his hand,” said Houghton via the BBC.
“It is really poor from Spurs, Sandro Tonali has do better with the first clearance.”
Tottenham have just one point from three Premier League games so far this season, which is an underwhelming return considering the summer they had in terms of recruitment.
