Tottenham midfielder prefers Premier League move after telling the club he wants to leave

Tottenham Hotspur are undergoing a major rebuild under Roberto De Zerbi this summer.

The Lilywhites have already signed six new players and two more players are expected to arrive shortly: Omar Marmoush and Savinho.

In terms of their midfield, Joao Palhinha left the club after his loan spell ended, while Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali arrived in big-money moves.

This has led to Pape Matar Sarr slipping down the pecking order. He wasn’t in the matchday squad vs Brentford, and now, it appears as if he is on his way out of the club.

Pape Sarr prefers Premier League move if he leaves Tottenham

Tom Allnutt confirms that the young midfielder has told Tottenham he wants to leave and that De Zerbi has accepted his decision.

Sarr has interest from Galatasaray and other Premier League clubs before the transfer deadline and he intends to remain in England.

Allnutt wrote on X: “Pape Matar Sarr has told Tottenham he wants to leave. With the arrivals of Tonali, Fernandes & Gallagher, Sarr wants to move for more game time.

“De Zerbi accepts his position. Galatasaray is an option, but PL clubs are interested and Sarr would like to remain in England.”

Sarr is a useful player and has been a valuable member of the squad in recent years, but the Tottenham faithful will not blame him if he decides to move on in search of regular game time.

In an ideal world, he would stay at the club as a squad option, but we can’t blame a player for wanting to move on to take the next step in his career.
