Tottenham have ‘agreement’ for attacker – it isn’t Savinho or Marmoush

Tottenham Hotspur’s need for attacking reinforcements was made abundantly clear yesterday as they fell to a 3-0 defeat vs Brentford.

Roberto De Zerbi’s side were toothless in the final third and didn’t really trouble the home side, who ran them ragged to secure a deserved win.

Various sources have reliably confirmed that Tottenham are in talks to sign both Savinho and Omar Marmoush from Manchester City, with both deals expected to be finalised before the transfer deadline.

And now, if reports are to be believed, they also have an agreement in principle on personal terms to sign Cody Gakpo from Liverpool.

Tottenham to submit official bid for Cody Gakpo

Tottenham’s interest in the Dutch international is well documented, but so far, they haven’t made an official offer.

Nico Schira believes that is about to change as the Lilywhites are ready to test Liverpool’s resolve shortly.

He wrote on X: “Tottenham are set to submit a new official bid to Liverpool to try to close Cody Gakpo’s signing.

“Agreement in principle between the Dutch winger and THFC for a contract until 2031.”

If the Lilywhites have agreed personal terms and are willing to make an official offer, it is very clear they are serious about the player.

Another thing to note is that any deal for Gakpo is independent of what happens with Savinho and Marmoush, so Tottenham are looking to sign all three of them.

Yesterday was a sobering night at the office against Brentford, but this is certainly good news for the long term.
