Tottenham attacker wants to leave and re-join former club

Tottenham Hotspur are focused on sales and it now looks like another long-serving player could be set for a departure.

In recent weeks, the likes of Cristian Romero, Djed Spence and Guglielmo Vicario have been allowed to move on, while a handful of others have left on loan.

And now, reports from England suggest Everton are plotting a move for Richarlison, who is keen on returning to his former club.

Everton want to re-sign Richarlison from Tottenham

TEAMtalk report that the Toffees made contact earlier this summer to test the waters over a potential transfer.

Richarlison is open to a move, but the report also clearly states that Everton have not made an official move despite Roberto De Zerbi’s decision to allow him to leave if the right offer comes along.

Earlier this summer, the Italian admitted that Richarlison could leave the club this summer.

“I don’t know because I like him as a player and as a guy,” De Zerbi said via BBC. “He’s unbelievable in terms of attitude and behaviour. But, in the end, we have to respect what he wants to do.”

When pressed on whether Richarlison wants to leave, he added: “I don’t know. I didn’t understand well because sometimes he says he wants to stay, sometimes he wants to leave. We have to speak anyway. There is not any problem. He’s a lovely guy.”

“For me, he’s still an important player because it’s not easy to find another striker like Richarlison,” he said.

“Richarlison scores goals. He knows the way. With any new striker, we don’t know. He scored 12 goals last season, not because of luck but because he knows how to score.

“All of us love him, the teammates, the club and the staff because he works hard every day, seriously every day, and we can’t say anything about him on the pitch.”

Tottenham have the option to extend Richarlison’s deal until 2028 and have no intention of parting with him on the cheap this summer.
