Tottenham Hotspur’s search for an attacker is drawing to a dramatic climax with less than two weeks left for the transfer window to slam shut.
The Lilywhites remain in talks to sign both Cody Gakpo and Savinho, but neither deal has proved to be straightforward.
As for Gakpo, Liverpool have not shown a willingness to sell so far despite being in talks to sign both Bradley Barcola and Ibahim Mbaye.
And now, Alex Crook believes the Reds won’t sell the Dutchman this summer, who is seen as a key part of Andoni Iraola’s squad.
Alex Crook confirms Cody Gakpo Tottenham blow
“I don’t think it will happen,” said Alex Crook via talkSPORT.
“Speaking to sources at Liverpool, they think he’s had a good pre-season under Iraola; they think he’s a player that Iraola can get the best out of.”
“I think he probably would be open to the move, but at the moment that’s not one I expect to happen between now and deadline day.”
Earlier today, we wrote on Read Tottenham that Manchester City could now be tempted to keep Savinho after Jeremy Doku’s injury setback.
Just imagine the scenes if both Gakpo and Savinho are out of the question for Tottenham at this stage of the summer transfer window…
