Tottenham Hotspur’s search for an attacker has been frustrating so far.
But in the meantime, they are fine-tuning their squad ahead of the new season and Roberto De Zerbi continues to stamp his authority at the club.
The theme of the past two weeks has been outgoings, with a handful of players sealing loan and permanent departures.
Mikey Moore’s future has been in doubt for a while now and could well be set for a loan move.
He has agreed a deal to join FC Koln, with multiple sources confirming that the Bundesliga club is his preferred destination.
But the Englishman’s transfer is yet to be confirmed as De Zerbi has not yet ‘green-lit’ the loan move.
Mikey Moore’s Tottenham departure not set in stone
Tottenham played out a 1-1 draw against Getafe yesterday and Moore featured in the game.
And now, Florian Plettenberg reports that his move to Koln is yet to be confirmed only because De Zerbi has yet to sign off on it.
He wrote on X: “1. FC Köln have reached a full agreement with Mikey Moore. There is also now a verbal agreement with Tottenham in place.
“The plan remains a loan deal without an option to buy, as reported. The only thing missing is the final green light from Roberto De Zerbi. Deal on. Now waiting.”
Tottenham don’t play again until next Saturday when they take on Hoffenheim. Maybe Moore was kept on just to feature against Getafe as De Zerbi doesn’t have too many options in attack.
Our best guess is that the Italian will approve the transfer this week, with Moore set to get his loan move to the Bundesliga.
