Tottenham transfer news as Fabrizio Romano drops massive Eli Junior Kroupi update

Tottenham Hotspur’s summer transfer window has already been one for the ages, but it could well get better.

Roberto De Zerbi has splashed in excess of £230m on six new arrivals, and judging by the rumour mill, they are showing no signs of slowing down.

Earlier today, Read Tottenham relayed reports from Spain that Bournemouth have set a £111m price tag for Eli Kroupi Junior, who is the Lilywhites’ primary attacking target.

To make matters worse, Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Barcelona are in the race for Kroupi as they aim to replace Robert Lewandowski.

And now, the Italian transfer guru has provided another update that could be good news for Tottenham.

Tottenham boost as Barcelona leave Eli Junior Kroupi race

Partizan Cope reported this morning that Kroupi prefers a move to Barcelona, which would have been another blow for Tottenham.

Now, however, Romano has confirmed that the Catalan giants are out of the race. He also added that Bournemouth have flat-out refused to sell the Frenchman so far.

“Barcelona are not proceeding in talks to sign Eli Junior Kroupi at this stage,” wrote Romano on his X account.

“Understand Barça will not advance on this option at present + Bournemouth informed clubs about clear stance, no intention to sell this summer.”

This is good news for Tottenham as Barcelona are out of the race. However, the Cherries’ transfer stance is very clear as they have not been willing to part with Junior Kroupi or Alex Scott so far.

Where do the Lilywhites go from here? Test the waters with a massive offer or move on to alternatives? Time will tell.
