- Danny Murphy believes Tottenham will get relegated
- Tottenham tipped to lose to Everton
- West Ham predicted to get all three points against Leeds United
Tottenham Hotspur have their destiny in their own hands as they prepare to face Everton later today to preserve their Premier League status.
Roberto De Zerbi’s side need just one point to remain in the top-flight as they are currently two points above the Hammers with a vastly superior goal difference.
However, anything could happen on the final day and the drama is set to be at its peak with each of the ten Premier League fixtures scheduled to kick off at the same time.
And now, Danny Murphy has delivered a grim relegation prediction that could confirm Tottenham’s worst fears.
Murphy says Tottenham will get relegated
Tottenham’s unbeaten run of four Premier League games was halted last week as they were beaten 2-1 by Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
West Ham lost 3-1 to Newcastle United, so even a point against the Blues would have saved the Lilywhites.
However, it wasn’t to be as goals from Enzo Fernandes and Andrey Santos gave Calum McFarlane’s side a priceless win.
Speaking on talkSPORT, Murphy feels Tottenham aren’t creating enough chances as he predicted them to lose to Everton, with West Ham tipped to beat Leeds at home.
“I think it will be a tiny margin on the day, a lot will depend on Tottenham’s start to the game, I think if they were to go a goal down, the nerves would kick in. One of Tottenham’s biggest problems is their creativity, chances, they can’t score goals!
“I think West Ham will beat Leeds and I’ve got a bad feeling here. I want Tottenham to stay up but I’ve got a bad feeling they’re going to go.”
Solanke and Maddison will be key for Tottenham
De Zerbi confirmed that Dominic Solanke is fit again after recovering from his hamstring injury.
The Italian also talked up James Maddison’s impact in recent weeks, with the England international still working his way back up to full fitness after his ACL injury.
Maddison has featured as a substitute in each of Tottenham’s last two games and has shown his class, although he is yet to record a goal or an assist.
Solanke should start in place of Randal Kolo Muani, who was guilty of an error that led to Chelsea’s second goal last week.
Murphy is right and Tottenham are struggling to create or score goals.
However, if both Maddison and Solanke are fit enough to feature from the start, the pair’s contributions could well be the difference between Premier League and Championship football next season.
