At a glance:
- Paul Hawksbee slams Randal Kolo Muani
- Frenchman hasn’t delivered for Tottenham
- Set to return to PSG in the summer
Tottenham’s two-game winning run in the Premier League was halted by Leeds United as the two sides played out a 1-1 draw in North London.
Roberto De Zerbi’s side are now two points clear of 18th-placed West Ham United and still have their destiny in their hands in the relegation battle.
However, with just two games left for the season to conclude, they will look to continue their unbeaten run of four games when they face Chelsea and Everton.
Tottenham had a few standout performers against Leeds, like Antonin Kinsky, but Randal Kolo Muani once again drew a blank in front of goal.
Kolo Muani savaged for Leeds stinker
With Dominic Solanke, Wilson Odobert, Mohammed Kudus and a handful of other players injured, Kolo Muani has started in attack regularly under De Zerbi.
The French international wears his heart on his sleeve and always gives his 100%, which goes without saying.
However, it just hasn’t worked out for him at Tottenham, as was the case once again vs Leeds.
Starting in attack alongside Richarlison and Mathys Tel, the PSG attacker didn’t make too many meaningful contributions and cut a frustrated figure overall.
And speaking on talkSPORT, Paul Hawksbee delivered a rather grim verdict on the striker.
“I’m just going to say it, Kolo Muani. I haven’t got anything else to say. Anybody who watched that game – it’s all you really need to say.
“I’m not faulting anybody’s effort. They are caring and they’re working hard but he’s the archetypal dog chasing a balloon.
“He’ll get in good positions, fall over his own feet, run it into touch, cannon off his knee. Man alive, £65m PSG paid for him. Seriously?”
Tottenham won’t sign Kolo Muani permanently
Kolo Muani has just five goals and three assists across 38 appearances for Tottenham in all competitions.
To make matters worse, he has scored just once in the Premier League in 28 attempts, which simply isn’t good enough for a player of his calibre.
It hasn’t worked out for him in North London, so he will return to PSG when his loan spell expires.
Kolo Muani has also been linked with a move to Liverpool as the Reds look to rejig their attack in the summer.
Regardless of what happens with his future, he is here now and will at least look to sign off on a high in the two games that remain.
