- Vuskovic has interest from multiple clubs
Tottenham Hotspur are looking to put safeguards in place for some of their stars amidst interest from European giants.
The north London side have struggled to build a squad that can regularly compete at the top in recent years. This also sees them in the relegation zone in the Premier League this season.
However, one thing that Tottenham have done well is signing highly talented young players. They have the likes of Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall in the squad, while Luka Vuskovic and Mikey Moore are having excellent loan spells.
Barcelona are interested in signing Luka Vuskovic
Spurs announced Vuskovic’s signing for a reported fee of £12 million from Hajduk Split in 2023. However, he joined them last summer after he turned 18. He was sent on loan to Hamburg and has impressed immensely in the Bundesliga.
His performances have seen him garner interest from some of the top clubs in Europe. According to GiveMeSport, Barcelona have already made contact with Vuskovic’s representatives for a potential summer transfer. His current contract with the north London side is valid until 2030.
The Blaugrana are looking to replace the likes of Ronald Araujo and Eric Garcia and could add Vuskovic to partner Pau Cubarsi. However, they will have to pay a huge fee if they are to convince Spurs to sell the Croatian defender.

According to The Sun, Tottenham are set to offer a bumper new contract to the 19-year-old. Having signed his first professional contract, Vuskovic is on low wages. However, Spurs are looking to boost his salary to match that of the senior players in the squad.
Tottenham must keep Vuskovic at all costs
Vuskovic has been one of the best defenders in Europe this season. In his first year in Europe’s Top 5 leagues, he has helped Hamburg stay up in the Bundesliga after promotion.
He has also contributed five goals and one assist in 28 games, winning multiple penalties as well.
There is a reason why many big clubs, like Barcelona, are interested in signing the Croatian defender this summer. Moreover, his stock will only rise, as he is set to feature for Croatia at the 2026 FIFA World Cup this summer. Hence, it is vital that Tottenham tie him down to a new contract.

With Cristian Romero and Radu Dragusin expected to leave, they can easily make a first-team pathway for Vuskovic next season.
Alternatively, they could allow him another season on loan at Hamburg if they get relegated. He has said that he wants to play with his brother, Mario, at the German club. Regardless, Spurs must keep a talent like Vuskovic at the club this summer.
