Players or managers have often fared well after leaving Tottenham Hotspur. The likes of Harry Kane, Eric Dier, Toby Alderweireld, and Erik Lamela, among others, won silverware after leaving the club.
However, this isn’t always true, as there are some exceptions as well. Harry Winks is one of them who appears set to have two relegations on his CV. The Tottenham academy graduate joined Leicester for £10 million in 2023 when they were in the Championship.
He helped the Foxes return to the Premier League the following season, but they went straight down. They are now on the verge of relegation to League One.
Harry Winks clashes with Leicester fans
Leicester lost 1-0 against Portsmouth away in the EFL Championship on Saturday. They will next face Hull City at home on Tuesday. If they lose, their relegation could be confirmed, subject to other results.
Amidst this, a video of Winks has gone viral on social media. It shows the former Tottenham midfielder having a verbal altercation with a Leicester fan after their defeat against Portsmouth.
As Winks was getting into the team coach, one fan appeared to abuse him. The midfielder snapped back, saying (h/t talkSPORT):
“You f*** off.”
He was heard repeating “Shut the f*** up” in the direction of one particular fan, who was also heard abusing him. Winks was then pulled into the bus to avoid further altercation.

Leicester fans have understandably been furious with their players this season as they head for back-to-back relegations. They also suffered a six-point deduction earlier this season.
Winks, meanwhile, has made 33 games across competitions this season, recording two goals and providing two assists.
As per Caught Offside, Wrexham are looking to sign the former Tottenham star this summer.
Winks didn’t feel “appreciated” at Tottenham
The 30-year-old came through Tottenham’s academy and made 203 senior appearances for them, recording five goals and six assists. However, he fell out of favor under Antonio Conte and was sent on loan to Sampdoria for the 2022-23 season.
In an interview with The Times during his loan spell, he explained his decision to move away from Spurs. He said:
“I wanted to play for a team that wanted me, that respected me enough and wanted to commit to me in that sense. I wanted to feel wanted and appreciated because in the last couple of years it was difficult at Spurs. I didn’t have that feeling.”

Eventually, Winks made 20 appearances for Sampdoria, but they were also relegated from the Serie A that season. He was then sold to Leicester in 2023. The ex-Tottenham man appears set to have three relegations on his CV.
On the other hand, Spurs are involved in a relegation battle themselves. They are 18th in the Premier League standings with just six games remaining.
