Tottenham have their work cut out for them between now and the end of the season as they only have six games to save their Premier League status.
The prospect of relegation is looming large at N17 as they find themselves 18th in the league table.
Roberto De Zerbi’s first game in charge of the club ended in a bitter 1-0 away defeat to Sunderland. And a similar result against Brighton later today at home could effectively condemn their fate, making it a must-win game.
There has been a lot of talk about whether or not Tottenham can avoid relegation. Roy Keane and Tony Cascarino have had their say on the matter and it’s safe to say they have differing opinions.
Tottenham divide opinion
Tottenham are in their worst run in over 30 years and haven’t won a Premier League game since late December, making it 14 games in the competition without coming out with all three points.
However, Roy Keane feels they’ll pick up a couple of wins between now and the end of the season.
The former Manchester United captain also feels Nottingham Forest’s UEFA Europa League run could prove to be a distraction for them, which could affect their league form.

Speaking on the Overlap, Keane said, “The logic is, they’ll get enough points (laughs). They’ll win a couple of games.
“One of Forest or West Ham will go down instead. Forest have a European game, and then European games can be a distraction.”
On the other hand, Cascarino feels Tottenham are getting worse with each passing game and don’t have enough quality in attack to score goals or win games.
“Every week, we think Spurs can’t be beaten again,” began Cascarino on TalkSPORT.
“They must find a way to win, but they find another way of losing. I can’t work out what I expect. De Zerbi has got players well out of form. Solanke, Kolo Muani and Richarlison – they’re all very off the cuff.
“If that’s their forward line, they have to find something from their midfield areas. We’re seeing every position on the pitch changing because they’re losing so often.”
Cascarino’s point stands tall
Keane is right. Forest’s European commitments could well prove to be a distraction, but they are playing much better football than Tottenham and recently beat FC Porto in a two-legged tie.

As for West Ham, they have also started to pick up form, with key players like Konstantinos Mavropanos, Axel Disasi, Jarrod Bowen, Matheus Fernandes and Cysencio Summerville stepping up in recent weeks.
If you look across the board at Tottenham, barring Archie Gray, there isn’t a single player who has risen to the challenge despite the dire situation they find themselves in.
And if they are condemned to another defeat against Brighton later today, Tottenham fans across the world will look at it as the final nail in the coffin of their Premier League status.
