Roberto De Zerbi is gearing up for his first home game as Tottenham manager as they prepare to face Brighton in less than an hour.
The North London outfit are 18th in the Premier League and need a win desperately to climb out of the relegation zone.
Even with a win, West Ham and Nottingham Forest can leapfrog them later in the week if they secure all three points, proving that they need other results to go their way.
In his pre-match press conference, De Zerbi said all Tottenham need is one win to get a bit of momentum as they remain the only winless Premier League side in 2026.
And now, he has sent an emotional message to everyone associated with the club in his programme notes.
De Zerbi urges Tottenham faithful to stay calm
Tottenham last won a Premier League game on December 28th 2025, when an Archie Gray strike gave them a 1-0 success against Crystal Palace.
Since then, they haven’t won in 14 attempts in the Premier League, which is their worst run in the top-flight in almost 100 years.

Brighton are one of the most in-form teams in the Premier League, with four wins in their last five, so the home side head into the game as underdogs.
Despite their predicament, De Zerbi believes things will change for the better for Tottenham.
“We understand how much this club means to you and we are giving everything every day to improve our situation,” said the Italian via Tottenham’s matchday programme.
“Now is the time to remain calm, stay focused and to stick together. If we do that, I am confident the results will come.”
Tottenham players need to step
Over the past week, a lot of Tottenham players – and De Zerbi himself – have been vocal about keeping the faith and trusting the process.
However, with just six Premier League games left to avoid relegation, it’s about time to walk the walk.

Tottenham need at least two wins between now and the rest of the season to avoid relegation and also depend on West Ham and Forest to lose games, so their destiny could be out of their hands.
Tim Sherwood feels Tottenham will get relegated if they lose to Brighton, as teams around them have started to pick up points.
And while relegation won’t be set in stone if they come out second best today, a dark cloud will start to loom large at N17 due to the prospect of playing Championship football next season.
