Tottenham privately confirm asking price for Pape Sarr after Real Madrid and PSG interest

Pape Sarr is one of several Tottenham players who haven’t been at their best during the 2025-26 campaign.

The young midfielder delivered a string of assured displays under Ange Postecoglou. However, the current season has proved to be difficult for him, especially with the Lilywhites embroiled in a relegation dog fight.

Sarr suffered a shoulder injury on international duty but featured as a second-half substitute in the 1-0 defeat to Sunderland.

He is expected to play an important role for Roberto De Zerbi between now and the end of the season.

However, if reports are to be believed, Tottenham are aware of interest from big hitters across Europe and have privately set a transfer fee in the case of his departure.

Tottenham want £50m for Sarr

Barring Archie Gray, it could be argued that none of the other Tottenham players have been anywhere close to their best this season.

Under Thomas Frank, they adopted a brand of defensive football that hardly got the fans on their feet. And by the time Igor Tudor arrived, the squad was already desperately devoid of confidence, which led to the Croatian’s departure after just 44 days.

Sarr is still highly regarded by Tottenham, but Caught Offside report that Tottenham ‘privately’ value him at around £50m amid interest from Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.

A handful of Tottenham players could be on the move this summer, especially if they get relegated.

And while Sarr’s departure isn’t set in stone – with none of the aforementioned clubs making a move so far – they could part with him if their asking price is met.

Earlier this month, we covered Fenerbahce’s interest in Sarr, so he could well emerge as a wanted man in the summer.

Interesting situation for Tottenham

Sarr clearly has his strengths and has been a good signing for the club. He won’t be high up on the list of players who Tottenham must offload, but if their £50m price tag is met, they may be forced to reconsider.

Roberto De Zerbi will look to stamp his authority on his squad in the summer and midfield is a massive area of concern. Tottenham have too many players with the same profile, which is a sign that their recruitment has faltered, particularly in the centre of the park.

Archir Gray is a shoo-in and Dejan Kulusevski could be stationed as a No. 10 when he returns from injury.

For the other deeper midfield role, they already have Yves Bissouma, Conor Gallagher, Rodrigo Bentancur and Joao Palhinha, although the latter is set to return to Bayern Munich at the end of the season.

Sarr’s situation will be one to watch in the summer, but for now, the Senegalese midfielder could add some much-needed energy and bite to their existing options.
