Exclusive: Ex-PL player believes Kane saga has reunited club
Harry Kane’s transfer saga during this summer’s transfer window has brought Tottenham Hotspur closer together, claims former Premier League striker Nigel Jemson.
Kane, who is a three-time Premier League golden boot winner, publicly announced on Wednesday that he now wants to stay at Spurs this summer.
The England captain tweeted stating that he will be “staying at Tottenham this summer and will be 100% focused on helping the team achieve success.”
After months of uncertainty surrounding the future of their star striker, fans can rest knowing that they will now have the services of Kane for at least another few months until the January transfer window comes around.
After gaining six points from their opening two games in the Premier League, and without Kane starting, problems are beginning to smooth over for the club.
Former Nottingham Forest and Sheffield Wednesday forward, Nigel Jemson, spoke exclusively to Read Tottenham about his thoughts on the matter:
“I think this saga has brought the whole football club together,” he said.
“Harry Kane is very popular down there and you can see them all fighting. I haven’t seen a Tottenham Hotspur performance like that for quite a while [against City]. They’re all digging in for each other and busting every energy, they’ve got to win that game.”
Following months of unrest over Kane’s transfer saga, Spurs can now focus on their performances in the league with Watford as their next opponents on Sunday.
Last season Kane won the Premier League golden boot and topped the assists chart.
