Athletic Bilbao keen to re-sign Spurs striker Llorente
Tottenham Hotspur striker Fernando Llorente will reportedly be the subject of summer interest from one of his former clubs Athletic Bilbao.
The Daily Star cite Mundo Deportivo in reporting that the La Liga outfit look set to move for the player come the end of the season.
The 34-year-old joined Spurs from Swansea city in 2017, reportedly costing in the region of £12m.
Since he arrived in London he has been the back up to talismanic forward Harry Kane, as well as facing competition to lead the line from Son Heung-min this season.
Llorente has made 19 Premier League appearances this season, with 14 coming from the substitutes bench and has scored just one top-flight goal.
However, he has scored a couple of vital goals in the Champions League, including the goal that put Spurs through to the semi-finals to face Ajax.
The Spaniard was linked with a return to Bilbao back in January, and when asked about the possibility of re-joining he said:
Back to Bilbao? Bilbao is my home and if I have an offer from Athletic, it is clear that I would value it. Why not?
With his lack of game time and his age, a move to another club may be in his best interests to prolong his career.
