Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino says he and his players are already focusing on their return to the Etihad Stadium following last night’s dramatic Champions League victory over Manchester City.
The Telegraph write that Tottenham progressed to the semi-finals of the European competition despite losing on the night in Manchester.
Pep Guardiola’s side won the match 4-3, with the Spurs goals coming courtesy of a Son Heung-min brace and the other off the hip of Fernando Llorente which was confirmed after a lengthy VAR check.
However, Spurs’ 1-0 first leg victory made the aggregate scoreline 4-4 and put them through on the away goals rule.

Despite the number of goals, the match is likely to be remembered for another VAR incident in second-half stoppage time when Raheem Sterling had a winning goal correctly ruled out for offside.
After the match, Pochettino and his players returned to the club’s training ground to begin preparations for this Saturday’s Premier League clash with the Citizens, again at the Etihad.
The match has a significant bearing on the title race and Spurs’ battle for the top four, and the Argentine is certainly not letting his players get overawed by last night’s result.
He said:
It means a lot to get to the semi-final. We still don’t realise because we are still in a dream, in a bubble, of course [you understand] through messages from family and friends…because we are so busy to prepare for the game Saturday you don’t allow yourself to live the reality. But it’s good because our job is to focus and concentrate and try to use all the tools to provide the team with the best tools to be ready for Saturday. Of course we are so happy and it means a lot to our fans, we feel so proud but there’s a lot of work to do until the end of the season.
