Kane will not face retrospective action for alleged ‘headbutt’

Tottenham Hotspur have been given a huge boost ahead of this weekend’s North London derby with Arsenal.

TalkSPORT report that Harry Kane has been cleared of any wrongdoing after an incident involving Cesar Azpilicueta in last night’s 2-0 defeat to Chelsea.

The pair went head to head following the striker’s challenge on David Luiz before Kane appeared to push his head towards the Spaniard.

Referee Andre Marriner submitted his match report the Football Association earlier today and reported that he had seen the incident meaning no retrospective action is required.

Had Marriner not noted it in his report, Kane could have faced a violent conduct charge and a three-match ban.

Spurs will be looking to keep their slim title hopes alive with a win over the Gunners on Saturday, as they are currently nine points behind leaders Liverpool with 10 matches to play.

Kane has scored 15 goals in 24 Premier League appearances this season and returned from an injury lay-off at Burnley last weekend.
