Tottenham Player Ratings: Burnley (A)

A bitterly disappointing day for Spurs at Turf Moor. Burnley started the game as they meant to go on, high tempo and strong both on and off the ball. In the first half Burnley’s pressing seemed to take Spurs by surprise and force them into uncomfortable positions; particularly on the right-hand side of Tottenham’s defensive line.

Burnley’s play focussed on exploiting Serge Aurier and Juan Foyth who found it difficult to deal with Ashley Barnes and Chris Wood. The first goal of the game came from a controversial corner decision as Chris Wood managed to easily shake Foyth to have an open header into the top corner or Hugo Lloris’ net.

Despite Harry Kane drawing the Lillywhites level in the second have with a brilliant solo goal Spurs carry on this season without a single draw as Barnes grabbed the winner. A poor performance yielded a poor result for Spurs today.
