Tottenham Hotspur forward Lucas Moura has won the EA Sports Premier League Player of the Month award for his impressive performances during August.

As reported on Sky Sports, the Brazilian managed to find the back of the net three times in three league matches during August.

The former PSG man found it difficult to break into the Spurs team last season after joining in January but with Son Heung Min away on international duty with South Korea, Moura has been given a starting role and he has proved his worth.

The 26-year-old scored as Spurs beat Fulham at Wembley Stadium before netting a fantastic brace against Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Speaking after winning the award, Moura said:

It is difficult to explain what I am feeling. I am so happy because I know it is not easy to win this trophy.

I waited a lot for this moment and I need to enjoy and to keep working because I believe I have much more that will come.

With Son returning from international duty, Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino now has a selection dilemma.

Pochettino’s men take on Liverpool at Wembley after the international break.
