Kenya head coach brands Wanyama as unprofessional

Kenya head coach Sebastien Migne has spoke out and accused Tottenham Hotspur midfielder of being unprofessional after he failed to turn up for international duty, the Evening Standard reports.

Wanyama, who captains the Kenyan national side, had been struggling with a knee injury this season but was still called up to international duty by Migne ahead of the country’s AFCON qualifier against Ghana.

However, Wanyama did not report to international duty due to injury and Migne has since lashed out at his captain.

Migne said:

Wanyama should have travelled so that our medical staff can assess his injury. We should be a bit professional in such situations.

Despite the accusation from Migne, Tottenham are understood to believe that Wanyama was passed unfit to travel with the rest of the Kenya squad through official channels.

Wanyama, 27, has not yet featured for Spur this season as he works on the rehabilitation of his knee injury.
