Joao Mario is lining up a loan move to Tottenham Hotspur this summer, the Mirror reports.
The Inter Milan midfielder spent the second half of last season on loan with West Ham where he made 13 appearances for the Hammers, netting one goal.
West Ham had tried to sign the 25-year-old earlier in the Window but wouldn’t meet the asking price set by Inter, who paid Sporting Lisbon £35million for his services in 2016.
Mario reportedly enjoyed his stint in the Premier League and likes London. He is believed to be keen on a return to both the League and the city, and Tottenham could provide him with that lifeline.
With Tottenham still yet to make a signing this summer, they could look to make a late bid for Mario after becoming frustrated in their pursuit of Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish.
Spurs had a £25million bid for the young English starlet rejected last night, with Villa wanting over £30million for their talisman.
IGrealish is keen on a move to the Premier League but with time running out, Spurs could now look for alternative options.
