Son may miss start of next season
Tottenham star midfielder Son Heung-Min is likely to miss the start of next season after saying that he wants to play in the Asian games, according to ESPN.
If the South Korean is able to win the gold medal with his nation it would mean that he would not have to complete military service which is required for all of his nation under aged 27 and male.
The tournament is scheduled to run from 18th Aug to the 1st September, the Spurs man is set for a busy summer with him set to line up at the World Cup with, the Premier League starting on August 11th.
He would be selected for the games as one of the three over aged wildcards and his side are the champions of the event beating their rivals, North Korea last time out.
The under 23 coach, Kim Hakbum has spoken about Son’s participation:
“But first, there’s the World Cup. I told Son to play well in Russia before we meet at the Asian Games.”
