Spurs make Ross Barkley No.1 target

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has made England international and Everton midfielder Ross Barkley his first-choice summer transfer target, according to the Mirror.

According to reports, the transfer fee for the England international is likely to be upwards of £30 million in the summer.

Pochettino, who has shown real interest in the 23-year-old this season, is hoping to add the young midfielder to bolster his squad depth.

The midfielder has made 25 appearances for the Toffees under newly appointed Ronald Koeman, scoring four goals since the start of the Premier League season.

Spurs targeted the young midfielder last summer and in the January transfer window this season, but Everton manager Koeman and the board told Tottenham that the 23-year-old isn’t for sale

The 23-year-old, who’s Everton contract expires at the end of next season, has shown some impressive form in recent weeks, with the midfielder helping towards recent wins against Bournemouth, Sunderland and West Brom.
