Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has signed a new five-year deal to keep him at Tottenham Hotspur until 2021, as reported by the BBC.
The former Southampton manager was two years into his current deal, but the success of this season has prompted chairman Daniel Levy to hand the Argentine an improved contract to ward off interest from other teams.
Coaches Jesús Pérez, Miguel D’Agostino and Toni Jiménez have also agreed to contract extensions.
Levy told the club’s official Twitter account:
We’ve seen Mauricio bring a tremendous spirit and ethos to our club and embrace the attacking style of play with which we have always been associated. He’s built a squad of youth and experience & this season we’ve seen football played at the highest level – quite sublime at times. Everyone at the club is delighted he has agreed an extended contract and we all look forward to working with him in the coming seasons.

Tottenham are set for their best ever Premier League finish with Pochettino earning plaudits for moulding the youngest squad in the Premier League into title challengers, finishing just short of eventual winners Leicester City.
Spurs are set to finish inside the top four for the first time in four years and ahead of next year’s final season at White Hart Lane, revenue from the Champions League and television deals will prove vital as the club builds its new home.
Speaking about his new deal, Pochettino said:
I could not be happier to sign this new contract. It was an easy decision for my coaching staff & I because we can feel the appreciation of everyone here and there is no better place to be right now. We have enjoyed a great season and we believe this is just the beginning. We have a long-term project and huge belief that we can achieve something big here for the future.
Spurs play relegated Newcastle United on the final day of the season, needing just a point to finish second ahead of local rivals Arsenal.
