Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed the club are interested in Marseille striker Michy Batshuayi, as he looks to strengthen his strikeforce for next season.
Tottenham have spent most of this campaign with Harry Kane as their sole striker, with Clinton N’Jie sidelined and Nacer Chadli or Heung-min Son occasionally filling in upfront.
Spurs have long been linked with a move for Batshuyai and according to The Express, Pochettino is ready to show his hand and steal a march for the talented Belgian’s signature.
Liverpool, West Ham United and Serie A champions Juventus have all expressed an interest in taking the former Standard Liege forward away from France, but Tottenham are ready to part with £25 million in order to bring Batshuayi to White Hart Lane.
The club have reportedly held talks with representatives of the player and the 22-year-old is thought to be keen on a move to north London, with Marseille languishing in 16th place and just five points away from the relegation zone.

And in a radio interview with French station RMC, Pochettino confirmed Batshuayi who has hit 15 goals in 34 Ligue 1 matches, is on his shortlist along with a whole host of other targets.
“We are looking for a striker this summer, that’s clear,” he said. “Michy’s a young player who has a lot of talent. He is on the list of many clubs.
“We have quite a few people who have given us information about him. He has good potential. We’ll see.
“We have other players in our sights too.”
Batshuayi recently signed a new four-and-a-half-year deal at Marseille in January, but is likely to leave the Stade Velodrome at the end of the season.
