Bayern Munich have shown interest in signing Tottenham Hotspur’s defensive midfielder Eric Dier, according to German outlet Bild.
They report that Bavarian scouts went to Tottenham’s Europa League game against fellow Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund last month and that they were impressed with what they saw from the England international.
Spurs are currently second in the table amidst their best season to date, only eclipsed by the surprising rise of Leicester City, so they’ll be keen for this story not to destabilize the club.

Despite being thought of as more of a centre-back, Dier has mainly played the role of defensive midfielder at Tottenham and could be a replacement for 34-year-old Xabi Alonso, whose contract runs out in 2017.
Although Dier was born in England, he was originally a youth player for Portuguese side Sporting CP.
He joined Everton on loan for the 2011/12 season before making 27 appearances for Sporting CP across two seasons.
On August 2nd, 2014, the Englishman signed with Tottenham Hotspur for five years, making 80 appearances in all competitions and scoring six goals for the team
