Mauricio Pochettino said his side can feel ‘very proud’, after Harry Kane’s excellent finish ensured Spurs left Anfield with a point.
Despite Spurs being under pressure from a Liverpool side, who poured forward at every available opportunity, Tottenham held firm mainly thanks to Lloris. The performances of Walker, Wimmer and Dier were particularly poor.

However, Mauricio Pochettino said he was proud of his side’s performance and insisted that they need to still believe.
Speaking after the game to Spurs TV, he said:
It was a tough game, Liverpool have some unbelievable players and in the first half it was difficult for both teams. They created chances, us too.
In the second half we started well and were unlucky to concede a goal early. We feel proud because the players fought and tried to get back into the game, we scored and nearly won but, it’s true, the feeling is not good because we dropped two points – but we can believe that we can do good things in the future. We showed character and for that, we need to feel proud and still believe.
The mentality of the team is perfect and after the way we played today we can feel proud.
Spurs now face Manchester United at White Hart Lane next Sunday, before facing Stoke at the Britannia Stadium the following Monday, hoping to keep the dream alive of bringing the league trophy back to White Hart Lane for the first time since 1961.
