Spurs are reportedly interested in signing Napoli and Italy forward, Manolo Gabbiadini, according to the Metro.
The 24-year-old moved to Naples in January of 2015 for approximately £10 million but has found himself behind the likes of Gonzalo Higuain and Lorenzo Insigne in the club’s pecking order.
This has seen the former Sampdoria man make just 14 appearances this season and as a result the forward is reportedly looking for a move away from Maurizio Sarri’s side.
With this in mind, Tottenham could be the perfect destination for the 6″1 forward.
Having spent a large part of his time at Sampdoria playing as the main striker, Gabbiadini has been utilised in more of a supportive role by his current employers so he is clearly equipped with the versatility that Mauricio Pochettino so greatly values.
In addition to this, the Italian international is physically equipped with the stamina and pace to be deployed in Spurs’ high-intensity system, which could make him the perfect deputy for the irreplaceable Harry Kane.
However, Pochettino has routinely stated his preference for signing players already stationed in England and with the North Londoners likely to have Champions League football next year, the club may wish to make a signing with a higher guarantee of success than Gabbiadini.
