According to ESPNFC, on Friday, Bentaleb was only able to play 25 minutes in Tottenham’s U-21 side against Leicester City before being subbed out. On Monday, the Algerian underwent a scan which revealed knee ligament damage.

Once learning about his injury, Bentaleb immediately pulled out of Algeria’s squad, who take on Ethiopia in World Cup Qualifying.
Bentaleb has been dealing with constant injury this season. The 21-year-old has only made 5 appearances in the English Premier League for Spurs. The Algerian was a pivotal part of the Spurs’ side last year under Pochetino, but injuries have kept him out of the senior team. As of late, Nabil Bentaleb has spent time with the U-21 squad as the midfielder attempts to rehab.
