Mauricio Pochettino has urged his players to ignore the Premier League table, following his side’s 3-0 victory over Norwich which left his team only five points off top spot in the Premier League.
After the win at Carrow Road, Pochettino spoke to the Daily Mail, saying:
“The gap with Leicester is five points and a lot can happen in football but our next game is against Watford and we need to keep this mentality,”

“We cannot be distracted by the table. It is important for the supporters, but for us it is important to arrive in the last few games with the possibility to fight for big things.”
Pochettino also spoke about his decision not to add to his squad during the January transfer window, with Federico Fazio and Alex Pritchard both leaving on loan on deadline day, despite the fact no reinforcements were brought in.
Pochettino said:
“I am very happy with the squad we have,”

“We are in a process when it is difficult to add the right player that can improve our squad. If we can find this player then why not? We are open and welcome. But I believe in my squad and the players show we can trust them so my feeling is good.'”
Spurs and Pochettino will be looking to ensure they can continue their title charge when Watford visit White Hart Lane on Saturday, before a tough away game to Manchester City the following weekend.
Pochettino will also be hoping that his decision not to add to his squad won’t backfire, with Harry Kane most importantly staying fit.
