Tottenham can confirm that winger Andros Townsend has officially secured a move away from White Hart Lane to Newcastle after a £12 million fee was agreed.
Townsend has been the subject of interest over the last month from a variety of Premier League clubs, but Newcastle were the first to make an official approach for the England international and have secured his services for the foreseeable future.
The 24-year-old has found first team chances hard to come by for Spurs this season, after falling extremely low in boss Mauricio Pochettino’s estimations after expressing his displeasure at the lack of playing opportunities for his side as of late.

Townsend never really lived up to the expectations and potential that he was destined for at Spurs, but after a hefty offer of £12 million came in for the winger from the Magpies, it was a no brainer for Pochettino and the club to let him go.
During his tenure at Tottenham, the youth product made just 50 appearances for his side, scoring an underwhelming three goals in competitive matches, but impressing at national level.
For England, Townsend managed to bag a goal on his debut for Roy Hodgson’s men and went on to add two more goals in his next nine caps for his country.
Are you happy to see Townsend leave?
