Former Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has told The Daily Mail that he believes that his old side have a realistic chance of winning the Premier League in the coming years but only on one condition – they sign a backup striker for Harry Kane.
Kane has already been a part of a staggering 35 games this season for both club and country but has still managed to rack up an impressive tally of 17 goals. However, it is clear that the England international cannot do all the work up front on his own.
“I see a top four finish for them I don’t see them winning the title this year I think they’re just a bit short of being good enough.”
During the start of the Premier League campaign, Kane got off to a very slow start and not so coincidentally, Tottenham as a team followed suit. It took seven games for Kane to get off the mark in the Premier League for Spurs, as they racked up just nine points from the games in which Kane did not score in the opening stages of the season; showing how much he is relied on at the club.

“The future is great here if they keep progressing next year, maybe the year after, the next couple of years there’s every chance they can win it.”
However, since then, Kane has been in excellent form for Tottenham, scoring as freely as he so famously did last season.
As a result of Tottenham’s reliance on the 22-year-old, speculation regarding the potential addition of a new striker in January has been fueled and now, even more so by ex-manager Harry Redknapp.
“They could do with someone just in case they get an injury. Why waste a great opportunity through not going out and just trying to find someone. But finding someone is difficult.”
Can you see Tottenham winning the Premier League in the next five years?
