Football Manager Director Miles Jacobson has revealed to The Mirror that he had to apologise to Spurs hitman Harry Kane following the players poor stats.
Kane approached Jacobson at the London Football Awards to quiz the game maestro about all things FM, especially his in game characteristics. Kane is reportedly a keen gamer and was curious as to why he couldn’t get into the Spurs first team as the game progressed.
Jacobson told reporters,
Harry Kane.
We did always have him as all right but I have personally said sorry to him because there was a long period where he was on loan at other clubs and we didn’t think he was going to reach the heights that he has done.
I met him at the London Football Awards and he is known for playing a lot of computer games and I said ‘we get 0.5 percent wrong, you were one that we got wrong’, and he said to me one of the reasons he was trying so hard was to make sure his stats were better in the game.
He’s been a revelation for a lot of people and was just a late bloomer and was probably suited better to playing Premier League football than Championship football which is rare and usually the other way.
Kane was exceptonal last season, breaking into the first team and scoring an impressive 21 league goals, whilst being voted on the the PFA team of the year alongside Diego Costa. Kane went on to win PFA Young Player of the Year in his breakthrough season, captaining Spurs in their goalless draw against Burnley at Turf Moor.
Kane has begun to find his form again this season after a rough patch and should be in contention for Roy Hodgson’s England team for Euro 2016.
