Former Stoke City goalkeeper Thomas Sorensen believes Christian Eriksen will stay at Tottenham Hotspur beyond the end of the season, even if the club fails to qualify for the Champions League.
Tottenham moved into the top four following their win over Southampton and Manchester United’s loss to Norwich City and are looking to return to Europe’s premier club competition for the first time in five seasons.
Sorensen, who played with Eriksen at international level for Denmark, believes that should Spurs fail to qualify again for the Champions League, the 23-year-old will stay at White Hart Lane for the foreseeable future, according to the Evening Standard.
“He is happy at Tottenham and he is very loyal,” Sorensen told Omnisport.

“But again, if he has the opportunity to move to a really big club at some stage of his career and Tottenham are not there [in the Champions League], he might consider it.
“However, I don’t see him moving next summer. I think he is very happy there. He has a good position there.”
Eriksen has been a mainstay in the Tottenham side since his move from Ajax in 2013 but has struggled at times for consistency.
This season, however, he does have seven assists and three goals for Tottenham in all competitions, including in the Europa League, where Spurs will play Fiorentina in the round of 32 who knocked them out in last season’s showdown.
