Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly tracking Paris Saint-Germain winger Ezequiel Lavezzi, with Mauricio Pochettino a big fan of the Argentina international.
Talksport claim that the 30-year-old is set to leave the French capital in January, with a host of European clubs ready to make a move for Lavezzi, including Barcelona and Inter Milan.
Lavezzi’s agent has reportedly said the forward is more eager to return to Italy where he enjoyed a good playing spell in Serie A with Napoli, but Spurs remain in the hunt and are hopeful of persuading the player to move to London.
As PSG have stormed towards the Ligue 1 title, Lavezzi has been nothing more than a bit-part player, making just three starts all season and 12 substitute appearances.
As such, head coach Laurent Blanc may be willing to offer the Argentine a move away from Paris, especially with the summer arrival of Angel di Maria pushing Lavezzi further down the pecking order.
Tottenham can count on Erik Lamela, Heung-Min Son, Andros Townsend and the fit again Nacer Chadli out wide, but with Townsend’s future uncertain and the England winger struggling for game time under Pochettino, Townsend may be granted a move should Lavezzi move to White Hart Lane.
Given his age however and Pochettino’s focus on youth and potential, a move for the PSG man may be wide of the mark.
