Tottenham Hotspur are considering signing Valencia’s Alvaro Negredo if they are unable to do a deal with West Brom for Saido Berahino, according to Darren Lewis of The Mirror.
The Spaniard was left out of the Valencia side for a large section of the season, but new manager Gary Neville has re-introduced him back into the fold in recent weeks, but a move away is still a possibility.
The 30-year-old’s previous spell in England at Manchester City was deemed to be a failure. Although his did score 23 goals for City, only nine of those came in the Premier League.
Spurs are looking to add another striker to their squad to ease the burden on Harry Kane, and will look to sign Berahino once again.
However, having played hardball in the summer, the Baggies will not want to lose their man without a fight and Spurs are making contingency plans if they can’t get the England Under 21 man to White Hart Lane.
