With Spurs currently on a club-record, 14 Premier League games unbeaten, the Lilywhites are reportedly scouring Europe, looking for reinforcements for their squad, most notably in the striking department.
According to the Daily Mail, at the top of this list is Gent striker Laurent Depoitre who is currently in a contract dispute with the Belgian club.
Depoitre is a tall, muscular striker who has progressed his way up the Belgian leagues to become one of the country’s most renowned frontmen, who is believed to be a target for the likes of Southampton, Everton and Crystal Palace.
Gent are believed to value the 6″3 forward at £14 million, although Daniel Levy will be hoping his contract dispute with the club will enable him to negotiate this price down to a more attractive fee.
In addition to Depoitre, Spurs are also believed to be interested in his Gent striking partner; Moses Simon.
Simon is very unlike Tottenham’s primary target, and is a quick, athletic frontman, who at only 20 boasts a huge amount of potential.
As a result of their interest in the Gent contingent, Spurs sent scouts to watch the pair in action in the Champions League against Zenit this week to assess the potential the two have.
This will not be the only scouting Spurs will do this week however, as they have also sent scouts to Switzerland to watch FC Basel’s game against Lech Poznan.
The North Londoner’s are reportedly interested in Basel’s Breel Embolo, as well as Poznan’s young midfielder Karol Linetty who has impressed with a string of fine performances this season.
