According to The Express, Spurs are beating Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United to the signing of Walsall left-back Rico Henry.
The 18 year-old recently signed a new five-year contract at the Saddlers, however, Premier League scouts have been impressed with a string of fine performances this season from the teenager.
As a result, all five teams are believed to be circling Henry, although, it is Spurs who are believed to have made first contact with Walsall for their young defender and appear to be determined to secure their man.
The North London club have had huge success with integrating young, home-grown talent in recent months and will be hopeful that this tips the balance in their favour.
The move could involve a similar arrangement to the one which brought Dele Alli to White Hart Lane with a loan back to the League One club, before Henry joins up permanently with Spurs in the summer.
Being a young, pacy, energetic defender; Henry is exactly the type of player Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino wants to build his side around, and with his success at developing young Englishmen, the Argentine will hope his feeling are reciprocated by the England Under 19 international.
