When the news broke in September that Spurs had terminated the contract of Togolese striker Emmanuel Adebayor, fans would have hoped this would be the last they would hear of the troubled striker.
However, The Telegraph revealed on Wednesday that Tottenham are still forking out a staggering £100k a week to the forward following his departure from White Hart Lane.
This shockingly means that Adebayor remains the club’s top earner despite not actually being registered as a player.

This will only cease to be the case once the former Arsenal and Man City man finds a new club, but following a string of failed moves to West Ham and Aston Villa, this does not look likely in the near future.
To make matters worse for Spurs chairman Daniel Levy, the Togolese has spent the past months in his native country and is well behind the fitness levels required for the Premier League, which could put off any potential suitors.
Despite this, Watford and, surprisingly, Chelsea have been linked with a move for the striker, although should they want their man, they will reportedly still have to negotiate terms with the notoriously tight-fisted Levy.
This should not be too much of an obstacle to a deal though as Adebayor is currently costing the Lilywhites ghastly amounts for no return, which Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino will be eager to invest in a backup striker for Harry Kane.
