According to the Daily Mail, struggling Chelsea are prepared to make a huge effort in order to land Tottenham striker Harry Kane next summer.
The reigning Premier League champions aren’t the only English side interested in the Three Lions forward, Louis Van Gaal’s Manchester United team are the other side who are reportedly interested in the striker.
It’s believed that Chelsea coaches will be at the Tottenham clash this Sunday, in order to improve their knowledge on the young, promising attacker.
The Blues are supposedly looking for a new striker as Diego Costa’s future at Stamford Bridge is under review, courtesy of an incident with coach José Mourinho.
A move for Kane in January will be a poor and somewhat dopey attempt, with the Mauricio Pochettino’s side trying to break into the top four spot.
Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich are also reported to be interested in the former Arsenal academy player.
Kane signed a contract extension earlier this year, which is set to expire in 2020.
Spurs are aware that they are in the stronger position of keeping their young prospect, but are also prepared to receive offers which seem inevitable now.
Tottenham tend to treat their in-form, quality players by giving them pay rises; this is something that may lead to Kane staying at White Hart Lane.
If he was to transfer to London rivals Chelsea, he would be the first Spurs player to do so since Carlo Cudicini did in 2009.
