Sports teams rely a great deal on feedback loops. Losing and winning can both be contagious, as teams and players feed of the negative and positive energies, respectively. For Spurs, the energy could not be much more positive. Unbeaten since the opening day of the season and coming into the International break on the heels of an extremely hard-fought draw at the Emirates, the club and their players seem to be on the up.
Such is the case with midfielder Moussa Dembélé, who has enjoyed a real turnaround this season after speculation ran rampant during the summer over his future with the club. However, Nacer Chadli’s injury has given Dembélé his chance, and he has made the most of it.
Dembélé recently spoke with the media about the club’s position and his own state of mind.
We’re in a very good situation in Tottenham.
We feel very fit, we feel very good, the team’s playing well, so it’s easy as well to come into a team like that. With the confidence, it’s something positive.

While Dembélé has been extremely happy with the chance to play in a more advanced position, he has stressed that the diversity of his skills makes him valuable to the club and that he is very willing to do whatever it takes to contribute to the squad.
There’s a lot of positions I like to play. I think maybe the diversity is something positive. At the moment I’m playing more in an attacking way and I think when I play in a more attacking way I can be more dangerous of course.
That’s a different style. If I play more defensive then other things need to be important so it’s very different.
Dembélé has been called up to the Belgian National Team as they prepare to face Italy on 13 November and Spain on 17 November in a pair of friendlies. After the break, Spurs will resume Premier League play on 22 November as they host West Ham in a match that could have enormous top-4 implications.
