Tottenham winger Andros Townsend was involved in an altercation with the club’s fitness coach Nathan Gardiner during the warm-down that followed Spurs’ 3-1 victory over Aston Villa.

Townsend was an unused substitute as goals from Moussa Dembele, Dele Ali & Harry Kane helped the North Londoner’s continue their impressive unbeaten run and climb to fifth in the Premier League table. The Daily Mail pictured Townsend’s unsavoury clash with Gardiner, with the winger seeming to shove the coach during a heated exchange.
The Mail report that the pair’s disagreement continued for the duration of the warm-down and they could be heard furiously shouting at each other from across the pitch before eventually disappearing down the tunnel.

Townsend is yet to start a league game for the Lilywhites this term and the London Evening Standard understand that the disgruntled winger has grown increasingly agitated at his lack of game time. Spurs’ head coach Mauricio Pochettino appears to view summer signing Clinton N’Jie as a more effective option than Townsend and the 24-year-old’s fall down the Spurs’ pecking order was apparent last night, as the former Southampton manager opted to hand youngster Josh Onomah his Spurs’ debut ahead of sending on the England international.
Townsend has amassed a paltry 67 minutes of league action in his three substitute appearances for Spurs this campaign and the nimble winger could be forced to push for a January move away from White Hart Lane or risk missing out on England’s Euro 2016 squad due to his lack of action. Spurs are believed to value Townsend at £15million, however, with interested clubs baulking at the unhappy camper’s price tag, the North Londoner’s could be tempted to drop their asking price.
