According to reports in Belgium, Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur are weighing up a bid for Gent’s highly-rated Belgian striker Laurent Depoitre.
Since 2007, Depoitre has netted 80 times in Belgium. It now seems that his goal scoring talent has attracted interest from Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino.
The forward may be in line for a move to north London with ex-Gent keeper Herpoel suggesting that the likely destination for his former team-mate is White Hart Lane.
Following their poor start to the current Premier League season, it’s no shock that the Lillywhite’s are being linked with a striker with a proven goalscoring record. Heung-Min Son has been the man finding the net for Pochetinno, despite the fact he’s more of a winger than a striker.
27-year-old Depoitre could slot straight into the side at White Hart Lane because of their lack of options up front following the departure of Spaniard Roberto Soldado and the club falling out with Emmanuel Adebayor.
Harry Kane hasn’t been able to find the scoring form from last season.
