It didn’t start well for Spurs, as Kevin De Bruyne put City ahead in the 25th minute after City had launched a counter-attack after clearing a Tottenham corner. Toure then played a wonderful pass into Kevin De Bruyne, who was slightly offside and he finished past Lloris to give City the lead.

However, with half-time looming, Dier scored a great goal to equalize as he picked up the ball 30 yards out and smashed a great finish in off the post to make sure Spurs went in level at the break.

After the break, Spurs had all of the momentum and Alderweireld headed in from a free-kick to give Spurs the lead before Kane ended his goal drought to give Spurs the lead after he put the ball in the back of the net when Eriksen’s free-kick rebounded off the crossbar and fell at his feet. The joy was clear to see on his face after he finally ended his mammoth goal drought.

But the scoring wasn’t over for Spurs, as they launched a counter-attack with Clinton playing in Lamela who rounded the keeper and dispatched the ball into the back of the net to give Spurs a memorable 4-1 victory against the favourites to win the Premier League title.

That result means Spurs extend their unbeaten record in the league to 6 matches and move up to 5th place in the table. However, the big news of the day is that Harry Kane has finally scored in a Tottenham shirt.
